Associate and Experienced Software Engineers – Secure Network & Protocols We are looking for Associate and Experienced Software Engineers to join the GSOS team located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The position focuses on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security Software Engineering organization. The selected candidate will work with the Ground Systems product team focused on the concept, requirements, architecture, design and development of an advanced ground operating system. The ground operating system definition encompasses multiple operating systems (Windows, Linux, Cisco IOS, CDOT, WindRiver VXWorks, ESXi, etc.) and includes the infrastructure necessary to provide all system services. We specialize in air‑gapped, fully featured, self‑contained systems and also develop WAN‑connected systems. Position Responsibilities Assist with the design, development, architecture, and maintenance of software solutions for networkstack protocol software used to securely exchange data between systems. Participate in performance analysis, testing, monitoring and software assessments of networking protocol software to assess, identify and address risks, weaknesses and vulnerabilities. Gather information to provide input on secure network and protocols throughout the end‑to‑end lifecycle development of software products. Gather information to support software project management activities and software supplier management functions. Basic Qualifications (Required) Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required). Bachelor’s Degree. Experience in Linux deployment and administration including bash scripting, remote access and deployment. Experience with basic networking, storage administration and package management. Experience with basic virtualization principles. Experience with containerization and familiarity with Kubernetes. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science or computer science program. Level2 (Associate): 2+ years of related work experience or equivalent education/experience. Level3 (Experienced): 5+ years of related work experience or equivalent education/experience. Knowledge of communications and network concepts and principles, and multi‑discipline integration issues. Knowledge of software programming languages and databases and ability to apply them in software development. Experience solving network problems such as QoS, multi‑level security, protocol conversion, network management and application optimization. Experience with software development and testing tools, configuration management and requirements management. Knowledge of hardware design and operating systems related to modeling, simulation and emulation. Ability to integrate hardware and software into functional systems. Knowledge of real‑time software constraints and ability to generate and trace requirements throughout the product lifecycle. Ability to synthesize software architectures and designs that meet requirements and constraints. Knowledge of multiple operating systems and computing equipment.
