Senior Engineer - Farmington Hills, MI

Minimum 3 years of experience as a Senior Engineer

Venteon is currently seeking a Senior Engineer to fill an opening with a manufacturing company located in Farmington Hills, MI

Requirements of the Senior Engineer

• CAD knowledge, including 2D and 3D and Solids
• Advanced Surfacing experience
• Microsoft Excel, Word
• Detail-oriented, self-starter, direct hands-on experience
• Ability to work well with little supervision
• Communicate; Ability to cooperate and work well with others
• Knowledge of foam design
• Knowledge of plastic design
• Previous experience with Honda seating a plus
• Minimum Requirements of Education, Training and Experience:
• Minimum B.S. Mechanical Engineering degree
• Three to five years CAD experience (V5, V6 a plus)
• Five years minimum seating experience or seat related components preferred, or
• Four years non-seat related mechanical experience
• Detail-oriented, self-starter, direct hands-on experience
• Ability to work well with little supervision
• Communicate; Ability to cooperate and work well with others

Responsibilities of the Senior Engineer

• Create base design and make comparison between current parts and competitor s parts.
• Create base design and proposal in accordance with customer s request.
• Create study layout using CAD based on Japanese OEM design layout. (Honda, Nissan)
• Create a more concrete plan drawing based on basic design.
• Explain the content of base design and instruct subordinate the points of plan drawing.
• Create drawings on specification drawing, proposal drawing, parts drawing, assembly drawing, assembly step drawing, and color chart drawing. Give instruction and advice to subordinate and create higher level of design and drawing.
• Decide structure against specification by customer.
• Check contents of specification drawings, proposal drawing, parts drawing, assembly drawing, color chart drawing, assemble step drawing and parts information drawing. Give direction and advice on content and instruction to subordinate.
• Attend design review meetings, FMEA, production system check meeting and other valuation meeting with state opinion.
• Give instruction to subordinate and make appropriate decisions on design review. Direct and advise to subordinate on design review.
• Create and maintain work schedule based on customer milestones and due dates.
