This role is a member of the mountain operations team with additional resort‑related oversight duties. Job Specifications Starting Wage: $70,304.00 – $73,285.00 + Annual bonus Employment Type: Year Round Shift Type: Full Time, hours available Minimum Age: At least 18 years of age Housing Availability: No Job Responsibilities Oversight of daily lift operation and ticket/pass verification for year‑round operations Effective communication with all internal and external partners, including supervisory staff, employees, management, and regulatory agencies Build, modify, and implement budgets for Lift Experience departments Lead selected summer construction projects, meeting budget targets and project deadlines Work closely with lift maintenance, product sales and services, and other mountain and resort departments; develop and maintain strong working relationships with these and other resort departments Ensure department staff are trained to and understand federal, state, and local regulations related to lift operations and scanning; manage applicable permitting processes Maintain safety consciousness and adhere to company safety guidelines and procedures, setting an example for others Participate in Vail Resorts best‑practice groups and implement initiatives from these groups Implement department training programs, ensuring documentation for all staff; ensure supervisory staff understand and operationalize performance‑management standards within the department Set, train, and enforce high service standards within the department and resort; motivate and encourage employees to deliver excellence in guest experience; identify and develop talent to build future leaders for the department, resort, and company Job Qualifications Valid driver’s license with a clean DMV record Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Smartsheets, etc.) Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience Minimum 5 years in the ski resort operations industry Fluency in English (speaking, reading, writing, and communication) Ability to ski/ride at an advanced level and in variable conditions Previous leadership experience with responsibility for employee safety, guest experience, and financial accountability Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent military experience (preferred) In completing this application, and when submitting related documentation, applicants may redact information that identifies their age, date of birth, and/or dates of attendance at or graduation from an educational institution.
