CHIEF Financial Officer

International Executive Service Corps

PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION

The Deputy Chief Financial Officer -Finance, Planning, & Analysis serves as a strategic financial leader and trusted advisor to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Executive Leadership Team, and Board. This position leads financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, performance analysis, strategic decision support, treasury oversight, and financial stewardship activities to support organizational performance, growth, and long-term sustainability. Additionally, this role acts on behalf of the CFO as assigned. This position is a director level role and is onsite in Findlay, Ohio.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Duty 1 - Financial Operations, Controls & Stewardship: Oversees financial operations, including general accounting, accounts payable, decision support, asset management, cash flow, working capital, investments, and debt management. Ensures financial integrity through strong internal controls, regulatory compliance, timely financial close processes, and accurate financial reporting. Drives accountability for investment performance, risk management, and financial stewardship across the organization.

Duty 2 - Financial Planning, Budgeting & Resource Allocation: Leads the organization’s short-term and long-term financial planning processes, including volume, revenue, expense, labor, and capital forecasting. Directs development, implementation, and monitoring of annual operating and capital budgets. Prioritizes capital investments and resource allocation to align organizational resources with strategic priorities and expected return on investment. Collaborates across the enterprise to ensure financial discipline and achievement of organizational objectives.

Duty 3 - Financial Reporting, Governance & Stakeholder Engagement: Serves as a key financial liaison to executive leadership, Board committees, lenders, auditors, consultants, rating agencies, and other external stakeholders. Prepares and presents financial statements, service line profitability analyses, performance reports, and strategic financial updates. Builds strong relationships with physicians, providers, operational leaders, and clinical leadership to promote financial stewardship and informed decision‑making. Maintains strong governance relationships while supporting credit rating objectives, bond covenant compliance, and enterprise financial oversight.

Duty 4 - Strategic Finance, Analytics & Decision Support: Leads financial modeling, scenario planning, variance analysis, benchmarking, feasibility studies, and return‑on‑investment evaluations. Helps identify trends, risks, and opportunities related to market conditions, reimbursement changes, labor trends, regulatory developments, strategic investments, and operational performance. Supports strategic planning initiatives by developing financial projections, pro formas, business cases, and growth analyses for new services, technology investments, facility expansions, and other strategic initiatives. Provides actionable financial insights that support executive decision‑making, operational improvement, and long‑term organizational sustainability.

Duty 5 - Operational Performance Improvement: Drives operational efficiency and financial performance through expertise in productivity, staffing, scheduling, and resource utilization.

Duty 6 - Leadership & Team Development: Leads, mentors, and develops finance team members to strengthen analytical capabilities, succession planning, and organizational bench strength. Fosters a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous learning, innovation, and high performance.

Duty 7 - Strategic Growth, Partnerships & Value‑Based Care: Provides financial analysis, due diligence, and decision support for strategic partnerships, affiliations, business development opportunities, and growth initiatives. Supports organizational transition to value‑based care models, population health strategies, and alternative reimbursement arrangements. Evaluates opportunities that enhance organizational growth, financial sustainability, and long‑term value creation.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of ten years of progressive financial leadership experience in a hospital or acute or ambulatory care setting.
  • Exceptional knowledge of healthcare finance, reimbursement methodologies, and internal control structures.
  • Expertise in healthcare finance, accounting, regulatory compliance, and leadership.
  • Advanced financial modeling and analytics capability, with experience leveraging modern business intelligence, decision support, enterprise resource planning tools, and the Microsoft suite of products (i.e., Excel and Access).
  • A valid driver’s license is required (if you do not have a valid Ohio driver’s license, you must obtain one within 30 days of your residency in the state). You must also meet BVHS’s company fleet policy and insurance company requirements, and any other requirements that may be required to operate a vehicle.
  • Positive service‑orientated interpersonal and communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or equivalent
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification.
  • Previous director‑level financial experience in a hospital setting, or in a public accounting firm focused on healthcare clients.
  • Experience with Syntellis/Axiom financial software.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position requires a full range of body motion with intermittent walking, lifting, bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting and standing. The associate will be required to walk for up to one hour a day, sit continuously for six hours a day and stand for one hour a day. The individual must be able to lift twenty to fifty pounds and reach work above the shoulders. The individual must have good eye‑hand coordination and fine finger dexterity for simple grasping tasks. The individual must have excellent verbal communication skills to perform daily tasks. The associate must have corrected vision and hearing in the normal range. The individual must be able to operate a motor vehicle for business travel and community involvement.
