This role helps to ensure that product development goals are met by conducting trials and studies that meet company and government standards. This role assists with routine product development processes and gains valuable experience in the scientific field.Essential FunctionsAssist in developing and mixing wet and dry formulas from concept through scale up and sourcing raw materialsAssist in developing and managing ingredient and formulation databaseAssist with conducting sensory and stability studiesAccurately collect, document, analyze and interpret dataPerform all activities in neat, safe, hygienic, and efficient mannerMaintain laboratory condition, to include equipment, supplies, quality assurance programs, and accurate records throughout all proceduresPerform other lab duties as assigned or requiredQualificationsEducation:Required: Associate’s Degree in science related field with at least 2 years of laboratory experiencePreferred: Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Chemistry or related fieldCertifications/Licenses:N/AExperience:A minimum of 2 years of laboratory experience in research facility or food manufacturing company (internship experience counts)Experience developing product formulations, evaluation in-process specifications, and formula scale upExperience conducting sensory tests and analysis, and stability studiesExperience working with Genesis or any food formulation softwareExperience working in a Nutraceutical, or Food Science environment preferredSpecialized Knowledge and Skills:Knowledge of ingredient functionalityKnowledge of product and formula developmentNecessary Competencies:Adaptability/FlexibilityLearning AgilityAnalytical/Detail-OrientedProblem SolvingCommunication (written and verbal)Critical ThinkingDependabilityTime ManagementInterpersonalWork Environment:This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, keyboards, and phones.
