Work Location: Santa Monica, CA, USA Fully On‑Site Work Schedule: 11.5 hour nights, including weekends and holidays Posted Date: 06/09/2026 Salary Range: $26.57 - $35.02 Hourly Employment Type: Indefinite Job #: 30324 Primary Duties and Responsibilities As a Cardiac Monitor (EKG) Technician in the Central Monitoring Unit at UCLA Health, you will play a vital role in supporting patient safety and clinical care. From the Central Monitor Station, you will provide continuous observation of patients’ cardiac rhythms and other critical vital signs, serving as a key partner to the care team. Monitor 5‑lead EKG, pulse oximetry, respiratory rate, and end‑tidal CO₂. Recognize and interpret arrhythmias, ST‑segment changes, and QT prolongation. Respond promptly to actionable alarms and communicate findings to nurses and physicians. Document patient activity, hand‑off reports, and census reconciliation. Ensure equipment functionality and escalate issues appropriately. Job Qualifications We’re seeking a highly‑skilled, self‑motivated EKG‑proficient healthcare professional with: Certification as an EKG Tech - preferred Associate degree or diploma - preferred Experience in 5‑lead EKG monitoring using Phillips® monitor - preferred This position could have the potential to float between the UCLA Health Santa Monica Medical Center and the UCLA Health Ronald Regan Westwood Medical Center.
