Warehouse Operations, Driver (M-F 9:30a-6:30p)North PlainsThe Commercial Vehicle Driver / Warehouse Operator is a dual role. Operations Driver is responsible for safely operating commercial motor vehicles (GVWR >10,000 lb. and ?26,000 lb.) to perform local pick-up and delivery (P&D) and conducts warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, picking, and quality control. Responsibilities include verifying shipment paperwork, weighing/dimension checks, loading/unloading (including ULDs), staging and replenishment, product scanning, and accurate documentation. The role requires strict adherence to DOT/FMCSR, company SOPs, and site safety policies, while meeting performance, safety, and quality objectives. The Operations Driver is responsible for operating power industrial trucks for the purpose of moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting merchandise. The operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also be required to perform Order Filler and Checker duties in addition to his or her own. They are responsible for the accurate storing, shipping and receiving of product to meet company standards of safety, security, and productivity.Essential duties and responsibilities include maintaining a neat and orderly storage lot, operating company commercial vehicles within a ~20 air-mile radius to deliver and recover freight from customer locations, verifying shipment bills for required information prior to loading, loading and unloading freight safely; weighing and checking dimensions against shipper calculations, sorting outbound freight and loading ULDs and trucks, using gas or electric forklifts/MHE to load outbound shipments, moving and stacking product, efficiently stacking and storing products in appropriate area, maintaining an organized work area, pulling and preparing for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped, performing picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards, preparing freight for operations accurately and in a timely manner as required, ensuring inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage, efficiently moving product from staging and/or storage to production lines and/or staging docks, keeping appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained, assisting in physical inventories, ensuring proper stock rotation, maintaining a clean, neat, orderly work area, complying with all Standard Operating Procedures, corporate and site-specific policies, safety rules, and OSHA/MSDS Standards, participating in safety meetings, loading, unloading, moving, stacking, and staging product and materials using a forklift, clamp truck, drum attachment, or other power equipment, maintaining the facility's equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion, inspecting and performing minor maintenance on the forklift or other equipment, operating all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods, performing or assisting in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned, changing fuel tanks on forklifts as needed, participating in physical inventories, performing labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking as needed, repairing pallets, when necessary, trailers, and truck bays as requested, helping maintain the facility to provide a clean, safe work environment, and performing other duties as required.Work overtime as dictated by business whether mandatory or voluntary.Supervisory responsibilities: NoneMinimum required qualifications include a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), 6 months experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment, ability to operate MHE, certificates, licenses, registrations or professional designations including satisfactory completion of a forklift training program, valid driver's license, ability to pass federal/state/local background checks, clearances, and drug/alcohol tests, and other requirements such as the ability to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during the warmer and colder months can range from mild to moderate.Skills, knowledge and abilities include basic computer skills, RF scanners, WMS functions, English (reading, writing, verbal), mathematical skills, basic to intermediate level to verify quantities of product, count inventory, or perform other duties associated with handling, storing and distributing client products, strong attention to detail accuracy and accomplishing job task in a timely manner, ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance, ability to effectively adapt to change and thrive in a stimulating, fast-paced work environment, ability to work as assigned outside and in a warehouse environment, and a clean driving record. CDL or prior tractor yard experience is preferred.Preferred qualifications include 1-2 years' experience working in a warehouse/logistics/distribution environment, 1-2 years forklift experience, and current or prior MHE certification.Physical demands include occasionally handling/fingering, sitting, frequently bending, constantly walking and standing, ability to lift/carry and push/pull 21-50 pounds, reach above shoulder, reach outward, squat, or kneel.Work environment includes rarely being exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and the noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
