At Site Work Specialists, a laborer assists and learns about site development, excavation, grading, and utilities. Pay: $18 - $24 per hour Depends on experience Hourly pay/overtime eligible Paid weekly via direct deposit Paid Time Off Employer-Sponsored Group Health Insurance - Standard or HSA Plan Flexible Health and Dependent Care Spending Accounts Dental and Vision Insurance Plans Company Paid Life Insurance Policy Supplemental Life Insurance Options for Employee and Family 401K and Profit-sharing Bonus AFLAC Insurance Options Yearly Safety Bucks Incentive Program Employee Referral Program Nationwide Employee Discount Program Apprenticeship and Development Opportunities Essential Functions: Retrieve materials Survey staking and assist with site grading Manually shovel materials including, gravel and dirt Maintain clean work area and job site Assist Superintendent, Foreman, and Operators as needed Operate a Bobcat Take direction and accomplish duties outlined by your supervisor and ask questions when you do not understand the task Be dependable to your team: You work as a team and progress as a team Assist with all tasks; even it is below your skill level Education Requirements: Job Requirements and Qualifications Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and random employee pool drug/alcohol testing Must have personal transportation to and from job sites, including out-of-town work Must arrive on time to job site fit for duty for required shift and have personal protective equipment (PPE) and necessary tools with you. Attend all safety meetings and maintain safe job site practices following company policy Wear and maintain PPE as directed by supervisor and safety team, including but not limited to hard hats, safety glasses, and high visibility vests Willingness to learn and master new tasks, duties, and responsibilities Pay attention to job details to provide an acceptable uniform product Identify and communicate any job site hazards Safely and correctly operate all equipment and manual/power tools. Do not operate any equipment or tools that you have not been trained to use properly Keep all tools in good, clean, and operating order Demonstrate and promote safety and proper housekeeping on all job sites and shop Display a positive attitude towards the company, fellow employees, and customers Be responsible for working unsupervised and complete work as directed Willingness to travel out-of-town Work overtime as required, including some weekends Maintain acceptable personal hygiene Dress appropriately for working conditions Required Tools: Must have required tools listed below within 30 days of hire and bring them with you to the job site as needed: Utility Knife Leather Work Boots Physical Requirements Able to physically lift heavy materials (up to 75 pounds) frequently throughout the work shift Ability to safely climb up and down ladders Ability to work alone once instructions have been given Able to complete a full day's assignments involving one or more of the following: Standing, bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, climbing, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, reaching overhead, and repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment and any other safety-related equipment Able to work in extreme weather conditions and elements outdoor, including heat, cold, rain, mud, dust, and snow, depending on the job location Able to work a minimum of 8 hours a day, with overtime and off-hour shifts as required About Our Company Founded over 20 years ago in Rapid City, SD, Site Work Specialists is an excavation, utility & site construction contractor serving South Dakota, Wyoming, Nebraska, and North Dakota.We specialize in residential and commercial development, building site development, waterlines, excavation, utilities, mass grading, and demolition.
