Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive med/surg nursing care to a diverse patient population across all patient types on an active telemetry unit
• Maintain patient ratios of 4–5:1 in a 15-bed unit setting
• Administer and monitor heparin drips and other medications per facility protocol
• Utilize remote telemetry monitoring in coordination with the tele tech team
• Float across multiple campuses as required to support patient care needs
• May serve in a charge nurse or preceptor capacity as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of submission
• BLS certification through AHA (American Heart Association) or ARC (American Red Cross) required
• Minimum 24 months of recent Med/Surg or Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
• Must have completed at least one travel contract within the previous 18 months — first-time travelers are not accepted
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR required
• Experience with heparin administration required
• Charge nurse experience required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (based on driver's license)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Telemetry and/or cardiac nursing background highly preferred
• Preceptor experience is a plus
• Openness to extending beyond the initial 13-week contract is strongly preferred
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, or director within the past 24 months preferred
