Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care across a general medical surgical / telemetry unit serving a diverse variety of med surg patient types
• Manage patient ratios of 4–5:1 within a 15-bed unit setting
• Administer and monitor heparin drips in accordance with facility protocols
• Utilize remote telemetry monitoring in coordination with the tele tech unit
• Float across multiple campuses as required by unit needs
• Participate in charge or preceptor responsibilities as applicable; recent charge or preceptor experience is required

Required Qualifications

• Active Iowa RN license or compact / multistate license at time of submission
• AHA or ARC BLS certification required
• Minimum 24 months of current Med Surg / Medical Surgical / Med Surg Telemetry experience
• Must have completed at least one travel contract within the previous 18 months — first-time travelers are not accepted
• Proficiency caring for all patient types across a variety of med surg presentations
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Experience with heparin administration required
• Recent charge or preceptor experience required
• Med Surg / Medical Surgical / Med Surg Tele-specific skills checklist required at time of submission
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (based on driver's license)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Telemetry and cardiac background highly preferred
• Work history reflecting 24 months of continuous Med Surg / Med Surg Telemetry experience highly preferred
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred
