Registered Nurse – Neuro ICU

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift (3x12 Hours, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Neuro ICU setting with the ability to float to stepdown at a 1:4 ratio
• Perform stroke assessment using standardized tools such as BE-FAST and NIHSS
• Administer IV-tPA and conduct post-tPA monitoring in accordance with current stroke guidelines
• Complete bedside dysphagia screenings per established competency standards
• Apply knowledge of current stroke guidelines and performance measures for Acute Ischemic and Hemorrhagic strokes

Required Qualifications

• Valid Kentucky RN license or Compact RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA certifications only accepted)
• NIHSS certification required (current certificate on file, obtained within 2 years of start date)
• Stroke signs/symptoms competency (e.g., BE-FAST) on file
• Bedside dysphagia screening competency on file
• Minimum of 9 months of travel nursing experience required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum 1 year of experience working in a certified stroke center critical care unit
• CRRT experience highly preferred
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
