The role

We are seeking a Director of Accounting to serve as a senior technical accounting resource and a builder of scalable corporate-accounting processes.

This leader will own or lead the accounting analysis and execution for complex accounting matters across the business, including leases, equity and stock-based compensation, cost capitalization, impairment, debt and other financing arrangements, revenue, and other non-routine transactions.

What you'll own

• Serve as the company's technical accounting authority: research, conclude on, and document complex and non-routine transactions under U.S. GAAP, including leases, equity and stock-based compensation, capitalized costs, fixed and intangible assets, impairment, debt and financing arrangements, revenue, and strategic transactions.
• Own financial-statement disclosures, footnotes, accounting policies, and technical schedules, and monitor new standards for their impact on the company.
• Act as the primary contact for external auditors on technical matters, keeping positions well supported and audit-ready.
• Partner with Legal, People, Tax, FP&A, and executive leadership so accounting implications are identified before transactions are finalized.
• Lead the corporate-accounting close and control environment: reconciliations, account ownership, segregation of duties, approval controls, accruals, and audit evidence across close, procure-to-pay, payroll accounting, and fixed assets.
• Own the accounting design of our new NetSuite ERP as we stand it up, continuously refining configuration, workflows, data integrity, and reporting so the system scales with the business.
• Implement AI into individual steps of accounting workflows, with appropriate controls, review, and documentation around each use.
• Build the policies, process narratives, control matrices, and training that make the function repeatable and ready to scale; mentor and develop the accounting team.

What we're looking for

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with a meaningful technical accounting and financial-reporting component; fintech, SaaS, or another high-growth technology environment preferred.
• Deep U.S. GAAP knowledge across leases, equity and stock-based compensation, capitalization, impairment, financing transactions, and revenue.
• Track record drafting technical accounting memos, preparing disclosures, and working directly with external auditors.
• Hands-on experience owning or implementing an ERP, ideally NetSuite, and using modern finance tools and automation to improve the close.
• A track record of proactively using AI tools to refine or create new processes with demonstrated, significant gains in speed. Experience with GitHub is a nice to have.
• CPA required or strongly preferred; Big Four or similarly rigorous public-accounting experience preferred.
• The judgment to distinguish routine operating decisions from transactions requiring technical analysis, escalation, or auditor consultation.

Nice-to-have experience

• SOX, IPO readiness, or public-company reporting.
• Multi-entity, international, intercompany, or foreign-currency accounting.
