Occupational Health Nurse

Job Summary

We are seeking an Occupational Health Nurse to join our client. In this role, you will be responsible for the treatment of on-site injuries, case management, medical surveillance, and providing health training to ensure the safety and wellness of employees. You will play a crucial role in driving health outcomes, minimizing health risks, and advancing employee wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

• Treatment of on-site injuries and referral to outside medical care as needed
• Case management for injured workers and facilitate return to work
• Provide medical surveillance, including audiograms, spirometry, vision screening, and lead testing
• Conduct new hire pre-employment drug and alcohol screening & coordinate medical examinations
• Participate in ergonomics assessments and job hazard analyses
• Administer the Drug and Alcohol program according to company policy
• Train employees in First Aid and CPR/AED as Medical Responders
• Train employees on Bloodborne Pathogens, Hearing Conservation, and more to meet OSHA requirements
• Advise on Workers' Compensation claims, as needed
• FMLA Administration
• Maintain HIPPA compliant documentation
• Deliver agreed regional health metrics and outcomes
• Purchase supplies for the first aid clinic
• Develop and meet site budget expectations
• Reduce population health risks and manage workplace health risks
• Work with Safety Coordinators to recognize hazards and prevent injury

Qualifications

• Active RN license in state of practice
• 2 or more years hospital or clinic nursing experience
• Excellent assessment skills in a clinical setting
• Phlebotomy skills
• Current CPR/AED certification
• Willingness to travel as needed

Required Employment / Compliance Language

The prospective candidate must be available to work full time Monday through Friday, with on-call duties required after hours for injury management.
