Pharos has an early proof of concept in security and real conviction about where the market is headed. What we don't have yet is proof it holds up at scale, or a repeatable way to turn that thesis into a validated business. That gap is exactly why this role exists.

What This Role Is

This role owns the full loop from thesis to revenue: understanding who the real buyer is and what they'll actually pay to solve, turning an existing proof of concept into something multiple customers can rely on, and building the go-to-market motion that gets it from a handful of pilots to a repeatable business.

You'll work directly with Engineering, not just direct it: prototyping, reviewing technical tradeoffs, and getting into implementation details yourself when that's the fastest way to learn something. You'll also work directly with customers and, over time, with Sales, to turn early proof into paying accounts.

You'll report directly to the CEO, with the autonomy that comes with that and the visibility too. There's no team here yet. What you build, you build largely with your own judgment and your own hands.

What You Will Own

• The market thesis: who the real buyer is, what they're actually willing to pay for, and what this product will deliberately not attempt.
• The path from an early proof of concept to something multiple paying customers can rely on.
• Direct, hands-on work with Engineering: epics, prototypes, requirements, and implementation tradeoffs.
• The go-to-market motion: positioning, packaging, pricing input, and what it takes to turn a pilot into a paying customer.
• A fast, honest read on what's working and what isn't, reported straight to the CEO, without waiting for a perfect plan to have that conversation.

What a Strong Background Looks Like

• You've built and shipped something close to zero to one, not just contributed to an already-mature product line.
• You've worked directly with customers to test whether a problem is real and worth paying to solve, not just gathered requirements secondhand.
• You've gotten into the technical details yourself: a prototype, a proof of concept, a spec you wrote and then helped build.
• You've made a real call with incomplete information and lived with the outcome, good or bad.
• You reach for AI as a normal part of how you think through a problem, not as a novelty.

 

Not a good fit if…	Strong fit if…
You need a validated market and an established team in place before you're willing to commit to a direction.	You're comfortable being the person who validates the market, not just executing inside one someone else already proved.
Your best work has come from directing others rather than building things yourself.	You still want to be hands-on with prototypes and implementation, not just strategy.

 

What We Offer

• Compensation: $165,000 - $170,000 base salary
• Location: US Remote. You must live in, and be eligible to work in, the United States.
