The Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at our organization is on the lookout for a full-time Hematopathologist. The selected individual will hold a full-time faculty position at either the Associate or Professor level, depending on their experience and academic achievements. While we welcome applications from candidates at all levels, those with significant experience and seniority in Hematopathology are particularly encouraged to apply.

The Hematopathology section consists of three hematopathologists who provide consultative and specialized services to the hematology and oncology departments at our affiliated hospitals. Hematopathologists oversee hematopathology and coagulation testing, which encompasses approximately three million studies annually, as well as flow cytometric analysis for lymphocyte subsets and comprehensive immunophenotyping for diagnosing and managing hematologic malignancies across five hospitals within our health system. Our laboratories are equipped with cutting-edge testing platforms, and lab management collaborates closely with the hematopathology faculty. The section also plays a vital role in educating pathology residents, hematology/oncology fellows, medical students, and undergraduate medical technologists. We offer robust support and opportunities for translational research.

• M.D., D.O., or equivalent foreign degree with board certification or eligibility in Anatomic Pathology is preferred.
• Board certification in hematopathology is required.
• Fellowship training in a subspecialty area of hematopathology, along with 3-5 years of post-fellowship experience, is preferred.
• Experience in hematopathology sign-out with increasing responsibilities and/or leadership is highly desirable.
• A strong commitment to teaching, mentoring, and academic involvement is preferred, especially for senior-level roles.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in Pennsylvania is required prior to the start date.
