Job Title: Social Worker- IRP 2 Department: James | Social Work Scope of Position Provision of social work services to inpatients, outpatients, and their families in The Ohio State University James Cancer Hospital. This role primarily covers weekends & holidays. Position Summary Social work services include psychosocial assessments, mental health counseling, crisis intervention, financial counseling, discharge planning, health education, and the provision of material resources and linkage with community agencies. Services are provided to patients and families to meet medically related social and emotional needs that impact treatment, recovery, and safe transition between care environments. Core competencies include psychosocial assessment, counseling and crisis intervention skills, knowledge of the PASAAR process for extended‑care facility placement, the assessment and counseling processes involved, knowledge of home healthcare set‑up process, and skills assessing neglect/abuse, including substance abuse and domestic violence. Minimum Qualifications For Hire: Master of Social Work from an accredited Graduate School of Social Work; State of Ohio Social Work licensure (LSW or LISW) or equivalent education/experience.
