Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care across all types of medical surgical patients in a 15-bed unit with a 4–5:1 patient ratio
• Administer and monitor heparin drips and other medications as ordered
• Utilize remote telemetry monitoring and apply cardiac/telemetry skills in patient management
• Serve in a charge nurse capacity as needed, leading and supporting unit staff
• Float across multiple campuses as required to support patient care needs
• Contribute to a collaborative, growth-oriented unit culture by supporting teammates and embracing change

Required Qualifications

• Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of submission
• AHA or ARC BLS certification required
• Minimum 24 months of experience in Med Surg or Med Surg Telemetry
• Must have completed at least one travel nursing contract within the previous 18 months (no first-time travelers)
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR required
• Experience with heparin administration required
• Charge nurse experience required
• Med Surg or Med Surg Tele-specific skills checklist required at time of submission
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (based on driver's license)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Telemetry and cardiac background highly preferred
• Preceptor experience is a nice-to-have
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred
• Openness to extending beyond the initial 13-week contract is preferred by the department
