Staff Infrastructure Software Engineer (Remote - US) Job Location : Remote US Anticipated Start Date : 06/01/2026 Salary Range : $225,000 – $300,000 Key Responsibilities Design, build, and operate cloud‑native systems and services using GitOps workflows. Develop IaaS (compute, storage, networking), PaaS (databases, messaging, API, serverless), identity/access, observability, alerting, remediation, and developer services. Collaborate with internal application teams to improve platform usability and gather feedback. Design and run systems that scale across data centers, edge devices, and public cloud environments. Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues, including participation in a 24/7 on‑call rotation. Basic Qualifications Authorized to work in the US. 6+ years of experience with modern programming languages used in infrastructure (Go, Python, Java). 5+ years of experience with IaaS, PaaS, service mesh, block/object storage, and Linux. 3+ years of experience with streaming data services and SQL/NoSQL/Graph databases. Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and DevOps practices. Interest in open‑source infrastructure and developer platforms. Experience with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry). Experience with secure coding practices and infrastructure security principles. Experience with secrets management and identity & access control. Proven ability to independently deliver features that improve developer workflows or platform capabilities. Experience collaborating across teams and mentoring junior engineers. Familiarity with designing scalable systems and contributing to architectural decisions. Experience participating in design reviews, incident retrospectives, or RFC processes. Demonstrated ability to learn new technical concepts and adapt to new technologies quickly. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a related field. Engineering experience with a public IaaS company (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.). Experience running infrastructure platforms in production (OpenStack, Ceph, Kubernetes, DBaaS, service mesh, API gateways). Open‑source contributions to infrastructure or developer platform projects. Experience with edge systems and hybrid environments. Experience with developer tooling as a builder and/or user. Proficiency with container‑based development. Interest in sustainable infrastructure and cost/resource awareness. Familiarity with frameworks such as React, Angular, Node.js, Spring Boot.
