This opportunity lets you analyze financial information, maintain accurate accounting records, and support sound business decisions through reliable financial reporting and compliance.Job DutiesPrepare and maintain accurate financial and business transactions.Process and maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.Bill clients accurately and in a timely manner.Monitor accounts receivable and ensure payments are received for goods and services.Work with other departments to ensure the correct amounts are collected in a timely manner.Review accounting processes and identify the need for new or improved controls.Analyze and project accounting data to help evaluate the impact of proposed plans on investments, income, cash position, and overall financial condition.Help ensure the accounting system provides an accurate foundation for management reporting.Perform accurate data entry and maintain financial records.Send payment reminders and follow up with clients regarding outstanding accounts.Contact clients to discuss account balances, payments, and billing questions.File and maintain accounting documentation and paperwork.Assist with general administrative and clerical accounting tasks.Perform other accounting, purchasing, and related duties as assigned by the supervisor.Education RequirementsBachelor's degree in accounting is required.Professional accounting certifications or continuing education are beneficial.Experience RequirementsExperience in both Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) required.Previous experience in a similar accounting role is required.Experience preparing, reviewing, and maintaining financial records and accounting documentation.Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.Experience using accounting software, spreadsheets, and enterprise financial systems.Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality while managing sensitive financial information.Proven experience in a similar accounting or finance role.Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office.Excellent data entry skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.Ability to maintain accuracy while handling multiple tasks.Ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage time.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Preferred QualificationsPrevious experience in accounting, financial analysis, auditing, budgeting, or corporate finance is preferred.Experience with ERP systems, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar accounting software is beneficial.Knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, tax preparation, compliance, or internal controls is considered an asset.Individuals who demonstrate professionalism, analytical thinking, accuracy, and strong organizational skills are well positioned for success as a Accounting Specialist.Physical CapabilitiesAbility to remain seated and work at a computer for extended periods.Ability to review detailed financial documents and perform accurate data analysis.Ability to occasionally lift office materials weighing up to 25 pounds.Ability to perform normal office duties while maintaining productivity and attention to detail throughout the workday.BenefitsCompetitive Weekly PayComprehensive Benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage.Life Insurance and Disability Insurance for added peace of mind.Optional 401(k) Plan to help you prepare for the future.Professional Office Environment with opportunities for advancement, continuing education, and career growth.About UsAt Staffmark, we connect hardworking people with great companies, creating opportunities that make a lasting impact.
