IT Project Specialist

Technology Project ManagerPrimary Purpose: Manage and support technology bond-related projects across the district. Work closely with Project Coordinators and technical teams to ensure projects are completed on time and according to specifications. Projects may involve construction/renovations, structured cabling, AV systems, infrastructure upgrades, and others.Qualifications:Education/Certification: Bachelor's Degree in Project Management or equivalent experienceProject management certifications (preferred)Knowledge and experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Kanban)Knowledge and experience with project management tools (e.g., Monday.com, Smartsheet)Knowledge and experience reading and understanding construction drawings and specificationsKnowledge and experience with IT structured cabling design (fiber/copper/outside plant)Knowledge and experience with MDF/IDFs and network infrastructure technologiesKnowledge and experience with technology systems upgradesExcellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to maintain accurate and auditable recordsAbility to manage multiple priorities effectivelyAbility to develop and maintain effective working relationshipsExperience: Three years of experience managing IT projectsThree years of experience managing projects in K12 education preferredMajor Responsibilities and Duties:Assist with organizing, and managing multiple concurrent projects, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are metEnsure accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including project plans, status reports, change orders, network diagrams, as-builts, and other relevant records.Collaborate with vendors and contractors on specifications for upcoming projectCollaborate with technical teams to resolve information technology issuesCommunicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and key stakeholders on project statuses, risks, and/or obstacles to ensure projects stay on track.Attend OAC meetings, perform site visits, and conduct field observation reporting to ensure all project objectives are being met according to specifications.Facilitate vendor commissioning, training, hand-off, and owner acceptance.Conduct post-project reviews to assess project success, identify areas for improvement, and document lessons learned for future projects.Supports integrated ITIL processes with Incident, Change, and Problem Management.Ensure all changes are well communicated, coordinated, and documented.Maintains up-to-date documentation, including diagrams, on all technology implementations.Establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence in the team's knowledge of and concern for educational and business needsBe customer service oriented and maintain a professional approach regarding all district matters.Be adaptable and flexible in acceptance of changes in techniques and procedures.Perform R&D and remain knowledgeable of emerging trends in technology and education, and keep abreast of innovative practices.Attain and keep current, relevant technology certifications.Perform special projects, after-hours support and upgrades, and other duties as assignedSupervisory Responsibilities: NoneEquipment Used: Uses computer, printer, copier, calculator, scanner and faxWorking Conditions:Mental Demands: Reading; ability to perform basic arithmetic; ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); ability to operate a computer; maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptionsPhysical Demands/Environmental Factors: Frequent sitting, standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing and pulling; prolonged use of computer and repetitive hand motions; occasional lifting up to 50 poundsSM082726
