Staff Developer/Literacy Consultant

Role & Responsibilities Deliver professional development workshops and coaching sessions for teachers, administrators, coaches, and families and caregivers. Collaborate with schools/districts to customize professional development to meet their unique needs, aligned with the research-based literacy approach of Literacy Partners while supporting them in improving student outcomes. Support TK-8th grade educators in implementing effective reading, writing, and phonics instruction that fosters student engagement and independence and prepares them for the real world. This will include working with a district or school-adopted curriculum and/or helping them develop their own curriculum for literacy instruction. Build and nurture relationships with teachers, administrators, families and caregivers to encourage trust, collaboration, and continuous growth. Contribute to ongoing professional development content development and refinement — sharing best practices, resources, and strategies to support high-quality literacy instruction. Participate in team meetings, retreats, and staff-wellness or leadership development initiatives as part of the broader Literacy Partners team. Minimum Qualifications Must have at least 5+ years classroom teaching experience within the TK-8 setting Must have at least 1+ years of instructional coaching experience A valid CA driver’s license A valid teaching credential Strong belief in equity, student-centered instruction, and transformative literacy education. Excellent communicator, collaborative, flexible and able to adapt PD to diverse school contexts and needs. Clear understanding of explicit direct TK-8th grade instruction of literacy skills and strategies, Passionate about reading, writing, and fostering lifelong literacy in students.
