Senior HR Partner - German Works Council & Strategy

As the Senior HR Business Partner , you'll be the go-to expert for employee relations and Works Council matters across Germany, partnering closely with business leaders, Legal, and global People teams. This role combines strategic business partnering with hands‑on execution and offers the opportunity to influence people practices across the wider EMEA region over time. What You'll Be Doing Act as a trusted HR advisor to senior leaders on employee relations, performance management, organizational change, and people strategy. Lead and own the relationship with the German Works Council, managing consultations, negotiations, and co‑determination processes. Prepare and negotiate Works Agreements in partnership with Legal and business stakeholders. Ensure compliance with German employment legislation while providing commercially pragmatic HR guidance. Coach and support managers through complex employee relations matters and leadership challenges. Partner with leadership on performance reviews, talent planning, succession, and organizational development. Manage the full employee lifecycle, providing expert support across all HR activities. Review and enhance HR policies, employee handbooks, and people processes to ensure legal compliance and best practice. Act as the escalation point for complex HR cases. Drive continuous improvement across HR programmes and initiatives. Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and Communications to strengthen employer branding and employee experience. Contribute to regional and global HR projects across the wider People function. What We're Looking For 10+ years' experience within Human Resources, including significant experience as a Senior HR Business Partner or equivalent. Extensive, hands‑on experience working with German Works Councils, including leading negotiations and consultations. Strong knowledge of German employment law and employee relations. Degree in Human Resources, Employment Law, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline. Professional HR qualifications are advantageous. Experience working within multinational or matrix organizations. Confident influencing and advising senior stakeholders. Comfortable balancing strategic business partnering with operational delivery. Experience using HRIS systems such as Workday would be advantageous. Fluent German and English are essential. Why Join?
