Required Qualifications U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a government security clearance. Responsibilities Nursing duties: Perform nursing duties and manage patient’s needs as described in the PD, identified by the Service Unit and directed by Supervisor. Perform in accordance with competency standards. Provide comprehensive, skilled, and competent nursing care specific to the age of the patients (neonate, infant, school‑age, adolescent, adult, and geriatric), based on nursing assessment, nursing process, and provider’s plan of care. Apply knowledge of the nursing process and clinical practice to provide individualized, goal‑oriented nursing care to neonate, infant, school‑age, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Utilize knowledge of scientific and psychosocial nursing theory, principles, practices, and techniques to plan and provide quality nursing care that meets the physical, spiritual, social‑cultural needs of the patient. Recognize complications and implement appropriate therapeutic interventions based on knowledge of biological aspects of disease processes and illnesses. Know medications and dosages to recognize desired effects, side‑effects, and complications. Analyze results of medical procedures and translate them into appropriate nursing interventions. Work effectively and harmoniously within the health‑care team and with Indian patients and their families. Follow facility policies and procedures, Joint Commission, OSHA, IHS, and other federal licensing, accreditation, and regulating body standards. Operate and mentor specialized equipment (respiratory equipment, suction devices, defibrillator, electrocardiographs, etc.), reporting malfunctions to Bio‑Med and/or Maintenance as needed. Interview patients, family members, and others to determine triage classification, and evaluate appropriate interventions for patients in life‑threatening situations. Administer therapeutic measures as prescribed by the provider (medications, intravenous fluids, blood products, respirator treatments, assist with various procedures such as splinting, sutures, preparing patients, assisting during procedural stages, and evaluating patient outcomes post‑procedures). Educate patients and families on preventive, curative, and rehabilitative measures involved in health care. Inter‑facility transports. Work Schedule: The Contractor shall work 100% of the contracted hours. Schedule includes Monday‑Friday 08:00‑18:00, Thursday afternoons 13:00‑18:00, with a one‑hour lunch every day, totaling 40 hours a week scheduled by the SCN. Licensure / Registration / Certification Requirements Possess and maintain a current, valid, unrestricted professional license. Maintain malpractice insurance. Basic Life Support Certification is required. Current, unrestricted license with no complaint filed. State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory license valid throughout the term of this contract. Driver’s license if motor vehicle operation is required for the position. Experience Thirty‑six (36) months of nursing experience and/or emergency‑room experience, with a minimum of twelve (12) months in the specialty required by the contract, unless otherwise approved by the Contracting Officer. Professional Development Level Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by the legally designated state accrediting agency. Active, current registration as a professional nurse in a state, District of Columbia, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory. Current certification in BLS, ACLS, and PALS. Current state driver’s license. Experience that equips the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the duties of the position.
