About the Facility: Pinon Health Center
Pinon Health Center (PHC) serves in rural areas. The Pinon Health Center is an outpatient clinic and is associated with the Chinle Service Unit - Indian Health Service in the Heart of the Navajo Reservation - Northern Arizona. Pinon Health Center provides medical care to approximately 11,000 patients - the majority of which are Navajo, and many still speak the language. The Outpatient Clinic has a wide range of health services that include Community Health Nutrition, Counseling Services, Dental, Family Medicine, Health Promotion, Laboratory, Midwifery, Native Medicine, OB/GYN, Optometry, Patient Advocacy, Pediatrics, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Public Health Nursing, Radiology, Speech Therapy, Navajo Nation Emergency Medical Services and Navajo Nation Health Education.

Registered Nurse - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)

• The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care for outpatient patients of all ages.
• Perform dressing changes, assist with ambulation, and support activities of daily living.
• Administer prescribed medications and vaccines.
• The Registered Nurse performs respiratory treatments, oxygen therapy, and fit assistive devices like splints or durable medical equipment.
• Perform urinary catheter placements, collect tissue and biological samples, venipuncture for blood samples, and assist in setting up minor procedures using aseptic techniques.
• Initiate treatments, administer medications, and perform emergency and resuscitative measures.
• The Registered Nurse consults with primary care providers and other healthcare professionals to coordinate diagnostic and therapeutic regimens for patients.

Registered Nurse - REQUIREMENTS

• Education: Must have completed an accredited nursing program at the associate or bachelor's level.
• Licensure: Must possess a current, valid, unrestricted nursing license in a state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States.
• Certification: Valid American Heart Association certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience, additional urgent care experience a plus.
