Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
In this rewarding contract opportunity, you’ll empower young learners as a Special Education Teacher for kindergarten through 2nd grade students. What You’ll Need:
- Valid and active Alabama Special Education Teacher Certification (AL SPED TCert)
- Strong knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs) and special education best practices
- Previous experience working with early elementary students is preferred
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Dedication to fostering an inclusive learning environment
Your Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction tailored to meet individual student needs for children in K-2nd grades
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in accordance with state and federal guidelines
- Collaborate with general education teachers, aides, therapists, and families to support student growth
- Maintain clear, accurate documentation and track student progress throughout the year
- Create positive classroom routines and manage behavior proactively
- Attend team meetings and participate in professional development opportunities
Role Details:
- Contract runs from August 3, 2026, through May 26, 2027
- 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday
- Serve a focused caseload of K-2nd grade students, ensuring personalized attention and effective support
- The hourly compensation for this position is $40, reflecting the specialized skills and dedication required for the role
