Trial Department Assistant

We are an established real estate law firm with offices across California. Our Los Angeles office is looking for a Trial Department Assistant to join our fast-paced team. If chosen as the successful candidate, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and timely production of all pre-trial and post-trial documents in the trial phase of the unlawful detainer process.About Us:With almost 50 years in the California legal industry and six offices statewide, our firm was founded on a commitment to customer service that has flourished within our culture of inclusion and diversity. It is our mission to provide the highest quality, cost-effective legal services to our clients.Compensation Range:$26.00-$31.00/hour (DOE)Responsibilities:Preparing cases for trial including but not limited to preparing case summaries, reviewing discovery and gathering evidenceAdd trial dates to ProLaw and calendarCommunicate with and respond to clients and courts via email and phoneE-Filing documentsFollow up with clients regarding stipulation complianceMaintain communication with attorneys regarding upcoming court casesContact clients prior to trial to confirm dates, times, and court locationsMake calls to court to follow up on mattersProcess trial results and update ProLawManage attorney’s calendars for court and trial datesAbility to travel between our office and the courthouse up to four days per weekPerform other duties as assignedQualifications:We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:2+ years of legal or law firm experienceAbility to manage a high-volume workloadAbility to multi-task and complete work in a timely and efficient mannerExperience with e-filingStrong communication skills and attention to detailMinimum typing speed of 50 words per minuteFamiliarity with Microsoft Word and PDF editorThe following qualifications are preferred:Formal legal training and/or trial experienceEssential Forms and ProLaw efficiencyKnowledge of unlawful detainers and local county court rules and proceduresSchedule:Position is full-time at 40 hours/week. Our business hours are 8:30am-5:30pm Monday-Thursday, 8:30am-5:00pm Friday.The primary responsibilities of this position require that the work be performed at the office full-time.
