Job Description

The Fulfillment Specialist plays a key role in the centralized pharmacy fulfillment center by accurately processing and shipping prescription orders to customers. This position focuses on receiving, scanning, picking, packing, auditing, and shipping items while maintaining high quality standards and a clean, safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming prescription orders and materials into the fulfillment center.
• Scan inbound and outbound items using radio frequency (RF) scanners to ensure accurate tracking and inventory accountability.
• Pick prescription orders from inventory with a high level of accuracy.
• Pack prescriptions securely and correctly to prepare them for shipment to customers.
• Audit orders to verify accuracy and completeness before shipping.
• Verify orders and ensure accurate entry and updates within the inventory management system.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized work area, keeping all fulfillment center spaces free of debris.
• Follow established quality standards and procedures to meet or exceed performance expectations.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines while handling, moving, and lifting products and materials.

• Ability and willingness to work a flexible shift schedule.
• Ability and willingness to stand for at least 8 hours with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability and willingness to perform physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, grasping, and lifting with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability and willingness to carry up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Comfort using RF scanners or similar handheld devices for tracking inventory.
• High School Diploma or GED.

• Experience with order picking and packing in a warehouse, distribution, or fulfillment environment.
• Familiarity with RF scanners for inventory tracking and order processing.
• Background in material handling and inventory management processes.
• Attention to detail to ensure accurate picking, packing, and auditing of orders.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, production-oriented setting.

Work Environment

This role is based in a centralized pharmacy fulfillment center that operates on an AM shift schedule of Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The environment is fast-paced and production-focused, with a strong emphasis on safety, cleanliness, and organization. You will spend most of your shift standing and moving throughout the facility, performing tasks such as picking, packing, material handling, and operating RF scanners. The facility is maintained to be clean and orderly, with clear pathways and workstations designed to support efficient workflow. Work attire is typically practical and suitable for a warehouse or fulfillment setting, allowing you to move comfortably and safely while handling products and equipment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Mechanicsville, VA.

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $15.00/hr.
