Customer Service Specialist

We’re hiring a Customer Support & Logistics Specialist at Savant Labs, part of the Savant Group, at our Midland, Michigan headquarters. This role is at the center of the customer experience—coordinating testing, tracking orders and timelines, preparing reports, communicating with customers, and helping keep laboratory operations moving efficiently. You’ll work closely with customers, laboratory personnel, outside testing partners, Sales, Accounting, and other internal teams to make sure requests are handled accurately, deadlines are met, and customers stay informed from start to finish. What matters more than what we do is how we do it. What You’ll Own You’ll help manage the day-to-day coordination behind customer testing and service delivery. That means keeping track of multiple requests, working with laboratory teams to schedule testing, communicating status updates, preparing accurate customer reports, coordinating outside testing, maintaining documentation, and making sure important details do not fall through the cracks. This is a great role for someone who enjoys organization, customer interaction, solving problems, and working in an environment where priorities can change quickly. What You’ll Do Coordinate customer sample testing, quality programs, and internal testing requests Schedule and coordinate testing with external laboratories, including purchase orders Track testing progress and help expedite work to meet customer delivery dates Serve as a primary point of contact for customers regarding orders, testing status, and non-technical questions Work with technicians, chemists, and laboratory leadership to develop customized testing plans Help resolve customer concerns involving shipping, data integrity, and operational issues Prepare and distribute customer reports Maintain accurate customer records, files, and supporting documentation Coordinate with Accounting when customer collection support is needed Partner with Sales and Marketing on pricing and quotation activities Support LIMS-related activities and departmental system improvements Assist with quality-control documentation and processes Review applicable ASTM, CEC, ISO, and other test methods to determine reporting requirements What You’ll Bring High school diploma or GED required At least two years of experience in customer service or administrative support Associate degree in Business, Communications, or a related field preferred Strong customer-service and communication skills Exceptional organization and time-management skills Ability to manage multiple priorities, requests, deadlines, and open items at the same time Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to identify discrepancies, anticipate problems, and help develop solutions Confidence working independently and taking ownership of responsibilities Ability to collaborate effectively across departments Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PDF editing software Experience in a laboratory, technical, manufacturing, logistics, or highly structured environment is a plus What You’ll Experience at Savant We’re not a “check-the-box” kind of company—and we don’t hire people who are either.
