Assistant Project Manager

Company Description Structure Midwest is a full-service construction firm that operates as a general contractor, construction manager, and design-builder for a wide range of building projects. The company oversees day-to-day construction site activities, coordinates vendors and trades, and manages communication among all project stakeholders. As a construction manager, Structure Midwest partners closely with owners from early concept through budgeting, design, estimating, and permitting, often handling subcontractor purchasing and agreements while acting as the owner’s representative onsite. In its design-build capacity, Structure Midwest serves as a single source of responsibility, assembling and directing architects, engineers, surveyors, consultants, and trade partners to deliver projects from concept to completion. Role Description The Assistant Project Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Indianapolis, IN, supporting the successful planning and execution of construction projects. This role assists the Project Manager with coordinating schedules, managing documentation, and tracking progress to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards. Daily responsibilities include supporting subcontractor and vendor coordination, helping with procurement and expediting of materials, preparing and maintaining project reports, and assisting with site inspections and issue resolution. The Assistant Project Manager will collaborate with field teams, designers, and clients to support effective communication, manage logistics, and promote a well-organized and efficient jobsite. Qualifications Candidates should possess skills related to expediting and expeditor responsibilities, including tracking material orders, ensuring timely deliveries, and resolving delays. Candidates should possess project management skills, such as schedule coordination, documentation control, and assisting with budget and scope management. Candidates should possess inspection-related skills, including supporting quality checks, safety walk-throughs, and compliance with building codes and project specifications. Candidates should possess logistics management skills, including jobsite coordination, resource allocation, and workflow optimization. Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and the capacity to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with project teams, trade partners, and clients. Proficiency with construction management software and standard office tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, project scheduling platforms). Relevant education in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in construction project support.
