Requirements Qualifications Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field with 2+ years of community-based experience, OR bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience. Supervisory experience with staff development and training. Experience in program development, case management, and/or community-based services. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills; ability to manage multiple priorities. Knowledge of conflict resolution, de-escalation, and human service systems. Ability to work respectfully and effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and communities. Experience collaborating with nonprofits, public agencies, schools, parents, and stakeholders. Commitment to confidentiality, HIPAA compliance, and mandated reporting. Flexibility to attend occasional evening/weekend events and travel as needed. Preferred Qualifications Bi-lingual skills in Spanish, Samoan or Cantonese Experience with the child welfare system or juvenile probation department Summary Position Summary Urban Services YMCA, the social services branch of the YMCA of Greater San Francisco, has provided free programs and services to youth and families in San Francisco for over 20 years. The Peer Partner Director, reporting to the Associate Executive Director, manages a program that supports caregivers engaged with Family and Children’s Services (FCS) and families connected to the Juvenile Probation Department (JPD). The role oversees program operations, compliance, reporting, and continuous quality improvement, while supervising five Peer Partner Case Managers and one administrative assistant. Job Responsibilities Community & Stakeholder Engagement Promote and market the program to strengthen visibility and trust with community members, partners, and the public. Cultivate and maintain collaborative relationships with community partners. Ensure programming and outreach efforts reflect and celebrate the cultural diversity of children and families served. Program Delivery & Family Support Maintain and enhance a referral system that connects families with supportive services and resources. Grow neighborhood and community-based support groups that reflect the strengths and needs of participating families. Staff Supervision & Development Supervise, mentor, and support a team of six direct reports, fostering professional growth and strong team performance. Expand workforce development opportunities by strengthening staff skills in outreach, leadership, resident support, and service navigation. Program Management & Operations Manage program budget with accuracy and accountability, aligning resources with program priorities and funding requirements. Provide leadership in refining and updating program policies, systems, and operations to support long-term sustainability. Uphold confidentiality requirements and comply with legal standards for mandated reporting. Evaluation & Reporting Oversee program evaluation and continuous quality improvement, ensuring effective use of data and feedback. Collect, analyze, and report program data to funders and stakeholders, preparing timely quarterly and annual reports. Ensure the program achieves grant objectives and consistently meets national performance standards; identify and pursue new grant opportunities. Work Environment & Physical Demands The work is primarily performed in an office setting with regular travel to meetings. The role requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods, use a computer and phone, and occasionally lift materials up to 25 pounds. Some evening and weekend hours may be required. The position involves frequent interaction with diverse populations and stakeholders in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
