Job Details: Location: Albuquerque, NM 87113; Position Type: Full Time; Salary Range: $21.19 - $23.84 hourly; Job Shift: Day; Job Category: Resort. Position Summary The Public Area Lead performs custodial functions to ensure the cleanliness of the facility, including the casino and other public and employee areas, in accordance with management directives. In addition to the assigned custodial functions, the Public Areas Lead provides mentorship to public area attendants and assumes the role of Public Areas Supervisor in the absence of the designated Public Areas Supervisor. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Performs custodial duties: dusting, vacuuming, trash disposal, restroom cleaning; cleaning of windows, mirrors, walls, doors, and carpet cleaning. Assists the supervisor with directing, leading, and evaluating work assigned to Public Areas personnel. Assists the supervisor with the oversight of departmental duties: dusting, vacuuming, trash disposal, restroom cleaning; cleaning of windows, mirrors, walls, doors, and carpet cleaning, including the Bingo Hall, Slot Machines, and other furnishings. Assists in maintaining inventory and ordering departmental cleaning supplies as required. Assigns Public Areas staff daily cleaning duties while standing in as a supervisor. Prepares and maintains files, records, reports, and related documents in support of Public Areas activities, as assigned. Enforces Housekeeping Department standard operating procedures. During emergency evacuation and fire, may be required to perform emergency mechanical controls, such as turning off/on electric power and gas. Familiarity and ability to adjust Casino and Resort thermostats. In the absence of the Supervisor, signs off and monitors Public Areas employees’ timecards for accuracy. Meets and coordinates with Public Areas Supervisor prior to each assigned shift. Responsible for submitting all maintenance issues into the EAM system on the cell phone and following up with Facilities Department to ensure work has been completed satisfactorily. MUST attend and complete required departmental training, including but not limited to bio clean‑up, carpet shampooing, and chemical safety. Reports to the supervisor any maintenance or hazardous issue encountered while performing tasks. Turns in any lost and found items to Security. Completes any projects issued by the supervisor or Public Areas Manager. Always provides proper customer service by assisting external/internal guests with questions or requests. Ensures that all keys are issued, signed out, and returned by the end of shift. Ensures all Public Areas personnel complete mandatory and required computer‑based training. Provides input to the Public Areas Supervisor to assist in the completion of subordinate’s 90‑day and annual appraisals, using employee performance journals and attendance logs. Assists with orientation and training of new Public Areas employees, ensuring they handle guests in a friendly and courteous manner and adhere to Public Areas Service standards. Responsible for all checks of department vehicles, including checking and filling fluid levels, gasoline levels, tire pressure, and replacing batteries when needed. Maintains punctual and regular attendance according to the Attendance Policy for Pueblo Sandia. Additional Responsibilities Performs other duties as required. Key Performance Indicators This position has Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) identified as a measurement of success. KPI’s will be shared with all team members who work in this job title, and feedback will be provided regarding the successful completion of the KPIs as part of the performance review process. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to supervise and direct the work of others. Knowledge of operation of tools used in the performance of Public Areas work. Ability to prepare and maintain office reports and records. Ability to maintain an equipment operating supply inventory. Retention and application of information learned during departmental training sessions. Effective communication and maintenance of good public and employee relations. Maintenance of overall Public Areas supplies used in the Casino and Resort operations. Administer first aid until the Security Department assumes control. Make quick decisions and provide suggestions for possible improvement. Work harmoniously and professionally with co‑workers and supervisors. Qualifications Education and Experience High School diploma or GED equivalent. Must be at least 18 years of age. One (1) year of experience in an environmental services work environment. Prior supervisory experience (preferred). Relevant work experience or education may be substituted to satisfy education and/or work experience. License/Certification/Registration Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted New Mexico driver’s license. Must successfully pass a stringent background investigation. Will require a pre‑employment and random drug screening.
