Lead Teller

Position Overview Lead Teller – Retail Branch, Newport News, VA, Fountain Plaza branch. As a Lead Teller, you will coach, mentor, and lead tellers by example, delivering a unique customer experience aimed at improving customer financial wellbeing, creating loyalty, and increasing share of wallet. You will collaborate with the Branch Manager to ensure teller and branch daily operations and maintenance transactions are completed efficiently and accurately. This is an in‑office, collaborative position within PNC’s Retail Branch organization. Responsibilities Coach, mentor, and lead tellers by example to deliver a unique customer experience that improves customers’ financial wellbeing and creates loyalty while increasing share of wallet. Process a variety of customer interactions and provide clear, concise information on alternatives and options. Identify banking opportunities during customer conversations and refer them appropriately to branch staff. Conduct lobby engagement activities to connect with customers and position PNC products to meet their needs. Leverage technology, tools, and resources to educate customers on managing financial transactions. Provide clear communication, transaction handling, and problem‑resolution processes. Assist the Branch Manager in performance management and new‑hire selection processes. Ensure teller and branch daily operations and maintenance transactions are completed accurately and efficiently. Adhere to all policies and procedures, demonstrating sound judgment within established limits. Apply knowledge of risk management to support PNC’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework. Typically requires 1+ years of related experience. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered. Education No degree required. Certifications No required certifications. Pay Transparency Base Salary: $37,500 – $62,500. This role is incentive eligible, with payment based upon company, business, and/or individual performance.
