Per Diem Retail Staff Pharmacist in Citrus Heights, CA

Urgent Opening for Experienced Staff Pharmacists - Per Diem Positions Available


A growing retail pharmacy network is seeking to expand its per diem pharmacist team to support increased workflow during the busy season. This is an excellent opportunity for licensed pharmacists who have retail experience and are looking for flexible, supplemental work.


Locations:

• Sacramento area (3-4 openings)
• Bay Area/North Bay region (2 openings)
• Northern California (Redding, Chico) (2 openings) Primary location includes Citrus Heights, CA, with assignments across multiple sites.

Schedule:

• Per diem, as-needed shifts averaging 1-2 per week per location
• Flexibility to commute and work across several store locations required
• Mileage reimbursement offered for travel exceeding 30 miles one way

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily pharmacy operations including dispensing and verifying prescriptions
• Support opening and closing procedures of the pharmacy
• Supervise and collaborate with pharmacy technicians to ensure seamless workflow
• Utilize pharmacy software (McKesson's Enterprise ERx) to process prescriptions accurately
• Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations

Qualifications:

• Active pharmacist license in California
• Minimum of one year retail pharmacy experience preferred
• Experience opening/closing a pharmacy and managing technician staff
• Ability to commute within multiple geographic areas as needed
• Strong communication and organizational skills
