Additional location - 4001 Fairview Industrial Drive SE, Salem, OR, 97302 USA About this role Access Solutions has a hybrid opportunity for an Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Generalist . Reporting to the Operations Director, the EH&S Generalist is responsible for leadership support to oversee Environmental, Health and Safety programs across Access Solutions in the USA. Manage/lead the EH&S function, and provide strategic direction, leadership, and technical support to advance EH&S programs with a primary focus on compliance with all local, state, federal, and Carrier EH&S related requirements. We require a highly energetic, self-driven, and dedicated EH&S professional. Advanced English written and oral communication skills and the ability to excel in a matrix environment, while working in a fast-paced team-based work setting is required. The ideal candidate will also possess strong leadership and analytical skills. In addition, an understanding and knowledge of legal EH&S requirements including OSHA/EPA requirements is essential. The EH&S Generalist can be based out of Pittsford, NY or Salem OR. Key Responsibilities Provide leadership and build partnerships at several sites across all levels of Access Solutions to foster EH&S culture improvement; adhere to EH&S regulatory compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations; and guide all employees to ensure adherence to company EH&S Procedures and Standard Practices Work on cross-functional projects that interface with other groups, external to and within the core EH&S team Ensure timely risk assessments and adequate controls for EH&S processes Assist in the identification of Health & Safety hazards and the development of controls to mitigate risks including ergonomic improvements Conduct EH&S audits; audit the compliance to Carrier policies and procedures and regulatory requirements; maintain and improve environmental regulatory compliance initiatives; and evaluate the effectiveness of EH&S programs Manage worker’s compensation program including claims management, and return-to-work coordination Provide timely information and guidance to the site leadership team, and site EH&S council, including EH&S performance trends, and root cause corrective actions for injuries and "near misses" Drive action plans to meet and exceed aggressive EH&S goals Lead and instruct EH&S training courses, and ensure that required training is completed Develop and implement strategic action plans to achieve the company goal of having a hazard-free workplace Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree 5 years plus of EH&S experience in manufacturing/warehouse, research, development or commercial setting Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Health & Safety Leadership, organization, and project management skills Certification in Environmental, Safety or Health, Risk Management i.e., CIH, CSP Work effectively in a team environment Communicate effectively in English Interact on all levels of the organization and with external agencies Understanding of standard EH&S reporting methods and metrics Success in leading and implementing site and/or corporate EH&S programs and systems Influence and drive EH&S initiatives whilst working in a diverse, multicultural environment EH&S risk assessment, program evaluation and auditing Knowledge, understanding and compliance with Environment, Health and Safety regulations, standard concepts, practices and procedures Enablon EMS, MS Office, Outlook, Windows Operating System Internet Explorer and web applications #J-18808-Ljbffr Carrier
