Regional Environment, Health and Safety Manager(Food)

Regional Environment, Health and Safety Manager (Food) Responsible for 5 sites Must be willing to travel up to 50% of time in and out of state to support regional activities at multiple locations. MUST have Food Manufacturing & Distribution The Regional EH&S Manager oversees safety, health, environmental, and security programs across multiple facilities. This role ensures compliance with OSHA, DOT, DEP, EPA, and other regulatory requirements while driving continuous improvement and promoting a strong safety culture. Conduct safety training for employees and new hires to meet OSHA/DEP/DOT requirements. Manage workers’ compensation cases, including injury response, reporting, and claim follow‑up. Partner with insurance carriers to control injury‑related costs. Ensure DOT compliance and support accident reporting and intervention activities. Investigate workplace incidents, vehicle accidents, and liability claims. Lead safety committee meetings and ensure timely corrective actions. Conduct regular facility inspections, audits, and hazard assessments. Maintain PPE inventory and promote proper usage. Oversee safety equipment inspections (eyewash stations, first aid kits, fire extinguishers). Coordinate external testing such as noise monitoring, hearing tests, and biological monitoring. Maintain accurate safety records, KPIs, and regulatory documentation. Support emergency response planning and evacuation procedures. Serve as the point of contact during regulatory inspections and environmental events. Manage security programs across assigned facilities. Recommend improvements to reduce accidents and enhance safety performance. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of EH&S experience in manufacturing, distribution, or supply chain environments. Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Safety Management or related field preferred. Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT, DEP, EPA regulations and safety best practices. Experience working in a union environment preferred. Ability to conduct audits, investigations, and develop corrective action plans. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
