Rhino Medical is leading the charge in seeking Board-Certified Family Medicine Physicians (MD/DO) for locum tenens opportunities in Baraboo, Wisconsin .

This outpatient primary care assignment offers flexible weekday scheduling, dedicated 1:1 clinical support, and the opportunity to care for an established patient population with a strong emphasis on adult and geriatric medicine.

Physicians will manage approximately 18–22 patients per day , with a substantial portion of the practice involving complex chronic disease management, including diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and patients with multiple comorbidities.

The clinic can accommodate physicians who prefer to treat adults ages 18 and older , making this an attractive opportunity for Family Medicine physicians with a strong interest in adult primary care and geriatrics.

Both short-term coverage and ongoing assignments are available.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive outpatient primary care to an established patient population.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Manage complex patients with multiple comorbidities, particularly within the geriatric population.
• Diagnose and treat common chronic conditions, including diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, and other cardiovascular and metabolic disorders.
• Conduct routine office visits, follow-up evaluations, and preventive health assessments.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and coordinate longitudinal care.
• Review laboratory results, diagnostic studies, medications, and specialist recommendations.
• Provide medication management, chronic disease monitoring, and patient education.
• Perform standard office-based primary care procedures appropriate to the practice.
• Collaborate with dedicated clinical support staff to coordinate efficient patient care.
• Participate in rotating Doctor of the Day (DOD) responsibilities, addressing nursing-triaged patient calls and clinical needs during regular business hours.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation using Epic.

The affiliated residency clinic handles most procedural services, allowing locum physicians to concentrate primarily on outpatient evaluation, treatment, and continuity of care.

Required Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
• Board Certification in Family Medicine.
• Active Wisconsin medical license required; IMLC pathway accepted.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
• Experience providing comprehensive outpatient primary care.
• Strong clinical competency in adult and geriatric chronic disease management.
• Ability to manage approximately 18–22 patient encounters per day.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records; Epic is used at the practice.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with nursing and medical assistant support staff.
• Availability for designated short-term or ongoing weekday coverage.
