About the Role
The Company is in search of a Head of Talent Development and Succession, a strategic leader with a strong background in HR and organizational development. The successful candidate will be tasked with building and owning the firm's long-term human capital architecture, with a focus on the systems that identify, develop, and advance critical talent. This role is pivotal in overseeing talent acquisition, as the company views hiring strategy and succession planning as fundamentally connected. The Head of Talent Development and Succession will be responsible for designing and leading an enterprise-wide succession planning approach, developing a forward-looking workforce planning model, and owning the end-to-end talent review process. They must also define high-potential talent criteria, create leadership development programs, and partner with senior HR and compensation leaders to design promotion standards and advancement criteria. Applicants for this role at the company should have a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) and 12-18 years of HR or organizational development experience, with at least 5 years in a talent development or succession planning leadership position. Experience in alternative asset management, investment banking, or institutional investment is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in designing succession planning processes for senior and investment-track roles, talent review facilitation with senior leadership, and building leadership development programs. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to operate credibly alongside investment professionals. The role requires a mature, dedicated, and professional individual with a hands-on attitude, who is capable of earning the trust of a highly analytical and demanding senior audience.
