Building Paraprofessional

Summary We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team at Pratt Academic Center as a Building Paraprofessional. In this full-time role, you will provide essential support to teachers and students, facilitating a positive and productive learning environment. Your contributions will be vital in assisting with daily operations, promoting student engagement, and fostering academic success. Responsibilities Assist teachers in the preparation and implementation of instructional activities and lesson plans. Support students in their learning by providing individualized attention and assistance with academic tasks. Monitor student behavior and provide guidance to ensure a safe and respectful classroom environment. Help with classroom management, including organizing materials, maintaining supplies, and setting up learning spaces. Collaborate with teachers and staff to identify student needs and develop strategies for improvement. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role. Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents regarding student progress and needs. Assist in the administration of assessments and tracking of student performance data. Support extracurricular activities and school events as needed. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or higher in education or a related field is preferred. Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff. Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed academically and socially. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and take direction from teachers and administrators. Basic computer skills and familiarity with educational technology. Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and student needs.
