The Overview describes the Ultrasound Technologist role within the acute care setting and outlines the responsibilities related to performing ultrasound exams, handling patient questions, maintaining confidentiality, managing the ultrasound lab daily operations, equipment maintenance, QA, and a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development. What You Will Do Uses imaging equipment and soundwaves to form images for diagnosis. Produces quality images following appropriate protocols and procedures. Provides and maintains clinical documentation per scope of practice. Educates patients/families regarding the procedure to be performed. Explains the procedure and independently performs ultrasound exams on patients following established protocols. Evaluates images for quality. Interprets what image is captured. Presents images and preliminary findings to the physician. Maintains the ultrasound equipment and sterilizes the room. Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements. Troubleshoots and ensures equipment functionality. Monitors and maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and material to ensure non-interruption of services. Understands and adheres to all applicable regulatory and accrediting standards. Follows RHS policies and procedures. Reports variances. Qualifications Experience Ultrasound experience (Preferred) Licenses and Certifications Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) RDMS(OB, AB, Breast, or NIV) Upon Hire(Required) or Radiologic Technologists - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Sonography (S) Upon Hire(Required) and Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) CCI (RCS, RCIS, or RVS) Upon Hire(Required) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) RVT or RDCS Upon Hire(Required) and CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire(Required) Other Requirements Call Rotation Weekend Shifts To learn more about being a team member with Riverside Health System visit us at #J-18808-Ljbffr
