Job Profile Summary Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for assisting in coordinating the TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) Grant Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education. It ensures the success of the student body by fostering cooperative relationships and identifying issues and concerns relevant to student success. The role works closely with student success coaches and the academic success centers to ensure an appropriate tutor is assigned to a participant. It assists participants in navigating the various academic and student support tools that are available to students. It is responsible for coordinating and monitoring tutoring services, as well as collecting and entering data into the Student Support Services (SSS) database for the Annual Performance Report and other evaluation reports. Performs related work as directed. This is a temporary position with a chance of annual renewal based on sustainability of the program. The program is a 5‑year grant and the incumbent is subject to annual performance evaluations. Job Status Full time Temporary Department Health Sciences - TRIO SSS Grant Location North Campus Salary $36,800 - $43,240 (Salary commensurate with education and experience) Pay Grade 713 Work Schedule Monday - Friday/Weekends/Varies Hours Per Week 40 Posting End Date Open Until Filled Responsibilities Daily – 30%: Performs and administers a wide range of staff and/or operational support activities for the unit; serves as a liaison with other departments and operating units in resolving day‑to‑day administrative and operational problems. Daily – 20%: Places facilities requests, assists with budgets and fiscal administration of the unit, procurement, purchasing, transaction verifications, gathering and computing data, and maintaining financial records, files and office supply inventories. Daily – 10%: Maintains tutoring documentation and utilizes tracking system for all tutoring systems to collect information such as time spent, subjects covered, and materials, and discusses it in coordination with participants’ Student Success Plan. Daily – 5%: Operates personal computer to compose and edit correspondence, memoranda and other documents; may prepare, transcribe, compose, type, edit and distribute agendas and/or minutes of meetings. As Needed – 5%: Schedules and coordinates meetings, events, interviews, appointments and other similar activities for supervisors. Other – 5%: Provides data from the SSS database for the Annual Performance Report and other evaluation reports. As Needed – 10%: Assists department/division administrators in problem solving, project planning, and development and execution of stated goals and objectives. Daily – 5%: Establishes, maintains, and updates files, databases, records, and documents to ensure the integrity, validity and accuracy of unit data. Weekly – 5%: Works with SSS staff, BC Admissions/Registrar, Financial Aid and Advising to accurately obtain, maintain and update participant information. Other – 3%: May train and coordinate work of student employees and/or temporary staff or part‑time staff. Other – 2%: Performs other related duties as required. Qualifications Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree Three years of general business or field‑specific experience, with two years in a college/function‑specific experience. Tutoring experience preferred. Experience working with first‑generation low‑income students preferred. An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities In‑depth knowledge and hands‑on expertise in tutor coordination and pertinent interdependencies. General understanding of the external environment and how it affects academia in general. Strong knowledge of College structure, policies and practices, and the impact on students. Demonstrated ability to motivate and empower students to achieve academic priorities. Ability to partner with others across the College and externally to exchange information, collaborate on projects, share resources, etc. Ability to incorporate technological tools in the day‑to‑day workday performance. Working knowledge of data entry, with emphasis on database management preferred. Excellent written/oral communication skills; strong organizational skills, required. Ability to manage own work to job and performance standards; ability to participate as an active team member.
