Lead Analyst, Business Intelligence & Analytics
This position is 100% onsite in our Austin, TX office. To be considered, candidates must currently reside within a 30-mile radius of the Austin, TX office and be able to commute onsite on a daily basis. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
The Lead Analyst, Business Intelligence & Analytics is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable reporting solutions that support business decision-making across the organization. This role partners with cross-functional stakeholders to gather and clarify reporting requirements, develops complex SQL queries to extract and analyze data from various relational databases, and builds interactive dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI, Cognos, Tableau, or SSRS. The Lead Analyst ensures data accuracy, consistency, and completeness, monitors and optimizes report performance, and troubleshoots issues related to data discrepancies and visualization errors. Staying current with industry best practices, this position evaluates and recommends improvements to reporting processes and tools, maintains thorough documentation, and ensures compliance with data governance standards. Additionally, the Lead Analyst responds to ad-hoc reporting requests, collaborates with business users to deliver actionable insights, provides training and support to end-users, and acts as a liaison between technical teams and business units to ensure reporting solutions are user-friendly and impactful.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Report Development
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to gather and clarify reporting requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Design and implement scalable reporting solutions that meet user needs and support decision-making.
- Develop and maintain complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from various relational databases.
- Build interactive dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI, Cognos, Tableau, or SSRS.
- Validate data accuracy, consistency, and completeness across all reporting outputs.
- Monitor and optimize report performance, including load times and query efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data discrepancies, report logic, and visualization errors.

- Stay informed on emerging trends, tools, and technologies in business intelligence and data visualization.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to existing reporting processes and tools.
- Maintain thorough documentation of report specifications, data sources, logic, and development workflows.
- Ensure compliance with data governance standards and reporting best practices.
- Business Support
- Respond to ad-hoc reporting requests with timely and accurate data insights.
- Collaborate with business users to understand their analytical needs and deliver actionable insights.
- Provide training and support to end-users on how to access, interpret, and utilize reports effectively.
- Act as a liaison between technical teams and business units to ensure reporting solutions are user-friendly and impactful.
Education and Experience:
- Level of Formal Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Area of Study: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- Minimum Years of Experience: 5
- Type of Experience:
- 5 year's relevant experience in related field, such as sales operations, business analytics, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in business reporting and analysis.
- Technical Competencies & Information Systems:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data visualization.
- Experience with business intelligence tools such as Cognos, Power BI, or Tableau.
- Working knowledge of data warehouse platforms (e.g., Teradata, Oracle, Snowflake).
- Advanced proficiency with CRM and sales resource management systems (e.g., Salesforce)
- Demonstrated ability to create user-friendly self-service and IT-based report templates.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
