Job Title: Intermediate Care Nurse - Northland Urgent Care Children's Mercy Kansas City, Kansas City, MO. Vaccination Requirements The seasonal influenza vaccine is a condition of employment for all employees. New employees must be vaccinated against measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and chicken pox (varicella) and/or have documented tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccination since 2005. Immunization records will be required. Job Overview Utilizes nursing process and knowledge of scientific principles to provide comprehensive, age‑appropriate nursing care for low acuity assigned patients. Assists with the shift supervision of non‑professional personnel as necessary. Responsibilities Utilizes the nursing process to develop and implement a comprehensive, age‑appropriate plan of care for the low acuity patient and family which promotes optimal patient outcomes. Meets the educational and informational needs of the low acuity patient and family, utilizing appropriate principles of teaching/learning. Promotes safe, efficient, family‑centered care to low acuity patients. Delegates nursing care based on knowledge of staff qualifications/competency and patient care requirements. Qualifications Associate’s Degree (ADN) required. Current employees hired before September 1, 2013 are grandfathered and may continue in the direct care nursing role. Bachelor’s Degree preferred for new hires after September 1, 2013. Nurses hired after this date without a BSN must complete their degree within 5 years of hire. Licensed RN – MO (Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri) required upon hire. Licensed RN – KS (Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas) required upon hire. Relevant life‑support certifications required upon hire. Specialty certification relevant to the unit’s patient population – preferred. The starting rate is $31.50 /hr, with actual offer based on education and experience. Work Location & Hours This position is not eligible for remote work. The person hired will work onsite at the North Campus location. Work days are varied; work hours are 10:30–21:00.
