Fleet Maintenance Technician

Fleet Preventative Maintenance TechnicianWe are currently seeking an experienced and talented Fleet Preventative Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team. In this position, you will be responsible for traveling with maintenance-related supplies to dispersed equipment and performing on-site maintenance activities on all machinery and vehicles, from heavy-lift equipment to light duty trucks. Your duties will include monitoring inventory, inspecting vehicles, and performing preventative maintenance. The role is planned for off-shift work. This can be flexible and can include nights and weekends. To succeed in this role, you should be physically and mentally fit and have a solid knowledge of basic mechanic's tools, service, and diagnostic equipment. Our ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, with excellent communication and customer service skills.Mechanic Responsibilities:Communicate within our organization to coordinate and schedule PM activities in an efficient mannerClean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehiclesOperate and inspect machines or vehicles to diagnose defects or functionality problems. Alert clients on issues that will prohibit their vehicles from passing inspection.Assemble mechanical components according to specifications.Design a plan of action for all maintenance tasksMaintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records, in written or electronic formMonitor inventory and order new parts when necessary.Offer consultation on maintenance and preventative procedures to machine and vehicle users.Operate individually and within a team environmentEnsure compliance with all health, safety and environmental regulations, and with company policies and procedures; perform daily equipment inspections, as well as identify and assist in correcting unsafe conditionsMechanic Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent qualification.Knowledge of Preventative Maintenance schedulingCertification from a vocational school or trade school is preferred.A minimum of 2 years of journeyman level mechanic experience requiredIn-depth knowledge of vehicle diagnostic equipment and mechanical systems.Strong attention to detail with an aptitude for problem-solving.Excellent communication and customer service skills.Physical Requirements: sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, twisting, climbing, balancing, bending (bending at the waist, lifting above the waist and lifting below the waist), kneeling, reaching, grasping (use of both hands), squatting, repetitive motions, manipulative finger movements with both hands, use of wrists (flexing or rotating with both wrists), use of both feet, use of arms above and below shoulder, work extended periods of time in same position, perform duties in all climates i.e. weather, extreme temperatures, tolerate heights, lift and carry up to 75 lbs., work in confined spaces, capable of wearing respiratory and other personal protective equipmentValid drivers' license required.
