Title: Payroll Supervisor
Compensation: $75,000 – $95,000
Location: San Diego (hybrid, 80–90% onsite)

Overview:
Seeking a Payroll Supervisor to lead end-to-end payroll operations in a complex, multi-entity environment. This role oversees payroll processing across salaried, hourly, and stipend-based populations while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and international payroll regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee full-cycle payroll processing with a focus on accuracy and timeliness
• Manage and mentor payroll staff, including training and performance oversight
• Ensure compliance across multi-state payroll and applicable tax regulations
• Review payroll inputs including timekeeping, compensation changes, and deductions
• Partner cross-functionally to resolve discrepancies and support employee inquiries
• Lead payroll audits and maintain data integrity within payroll systems
• Support reporting and continuous process improvements
• Oversee payroll compliance for foreign national workforce, including specialized tax reporting
• Maintain international tax systems and related documentation processes

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5 years of progressive payroll experience, including 3 years in a supervisory role
• Strong understanding of payroll compliance and regulations
• Experience with payroll systems such as Workday, UKG, or similar
• Advanced Excel proficiency
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
• Experience with multi-state and/or international payroll
• Exposure to complex or global payroll environments
