Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Role: Registered Nurse (RN) responsible for coordinating patient care in a fast-paced hospital environment, focusing on specific patient populations and health conditions. Key Responsibilities Assess patients, identify diagnoses, develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans. Delegate interventions based on patient condition and staff competencies, ensuring safe and effective care. Serve as a patient advocate, maintaining confidentiality and respecting cultural and religious preferences. Perform comprehensive patient assessments, recognize condition changes, and provide appropriate interventions. Manage diverse patient cases including cardiovascular, respiratory, trauma, and infectious diseases. Administer medications, manage IV access, conduct Point of Care testing, and perform emergency resuscitation. Ensure accurate documentation adhering to hospital standards and legal requirements. Maintain knowledge of safety, infection control, and regulatory guidelines; participate in professional development. Collaborate with healthcare team, communicate effectively, and support continuous quality improvement. Qualifications & Skills Graduate of an accredited nursing program; nurse residency completion required. Minimum of 14-18 months ER/ED bedside experience in a high-acuity setting. Current RN license or valid temporary permit from the Texas Board of Nursing; valid BLS, ALS/ACLS, PALS/ENPC certifications; TNCC or ATCN within 90 days.
