Duties

Help

• Develops protocols and mechanisms to monitor, analyze, and evaluate the delivery of managed care support to TRICARE eligible beneficiaries.
• Conducts extensive coordination efforts with other DoD and federal agencies, which implement new programs in the Military Health System (MHS).
• Prepares responses to proposed legislative Bills pertaining to specific health care services.
• Arranges meetings with senior representatives from the Tri-Service branches, civilian contractors, and other DoD personnel.
• Reviews, coordinates, and develops annual budgets.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes reviewing healthcare regulations or guidelines to assist managed care program administration; providing technical assistance on healthcare policies to cross-functional organizational partners; and tracking annual program budgets to recommend adjustments for healthcare operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
