Senior Project ManagerLocation: Hawaii ECC is seeking candidates for a Senior Project Manager position for upcoming work in Hawaii and surrounding area. The Senior Project Manager is the Company's "management representative" and is primarily responsible for the safe completion of the project(s) within budget, on schedule, within the Company's quality standards, and to the customer's satisfaction. The duties include leading the project team on all aspects of the project including schedule, budget, risk mitigation, safety, and quality control. The Project Manager duties include initiating action and managing the activities of the project to mitigate risk and to achieve successfully project completion. In this position you will:Plans and directs activities of designated project to ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parametersCreate and review project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of projectEnsure project safety and quality is properly incorporated into job planning and executionEstablish the work plan and staffing for each phase of project fully understanding project scope and potential risks.Arrange for recruitment or assignment of project personnelConfer with project staff to outline work plan and set goals, assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authorityDirect and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budgetGenerate status reports prepared in conjunction with project personnel and modify schedules and plans as required (i.e. weekly and monthly review) and prepare a monthly analysisAnalyze cost and schedule problems and initiate new alternatives which will bring the project back on course, and initiate action to execute the plan. Look for and analyze items with excessive costs.Manage Contractual agreements and change orders.Prepare project reports for management, client, or others clearly keeping everyone involved aware of project progress and challenges.Confer with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problemsManage issues and disputes between workers, clients, and subcontractor professionally and timely.Ensure that submittals and progress payments are processed timely.Coordinates project activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agenciesManage supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable lawsIn addition to the accountabilities above, other responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables may be assigned to the incumbent of this positionRequirementsAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations, FAR knowledgeAbility to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from project stakeholdersAbility to understand and interpret engineering design drawings and specificationsAbility to develop and negotiate subcontractor scopes of workCapable of communicating with persuasiveness and exercise effective negotiation techniques as neededAbility to form strong relationships with management, clients, and subcontractorsSkilled in interfacing with executive management to convey project statusCompetent in using Microsoft Office products, email systems, and WindowsAbility to develop, maintain, and effectively communicate project schedules.Experience with Primavera scheduling softwareMinimum ten years successful project management experience with emphasis on management of costs, schedule, communication and application of other project resources on construction or environmental remediation projectsTravel: Must be able and willing to travel periodically as needed, typically less than 25% depending on the needs of the company.Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management. Degrees in business will also be considered with experience in the construction industry. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for this requirement.Preferred QualificationsFive years working on construction projects of at least $10 millionDesign-build construction experienceFirm fixed price project experienceDepartment of Defense (DoD) client experienceOverseas project experienceECC targeted salary range for US locations average is $130,000 to $160,000 annually. Actual salary offered may be affected by education, training, certifications, experience, skills, level of responsibility, and location.
