About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to spearhead the development and enhancement of the technology and systems that will support a significant increase in operations. The CTO will be responsible for defining the technology vision and target stack, owning the technical strategy, and leading a small but rapidly growing engineering team. This role demands an exceptional leader with a proven track record in hiring, managing, and organizing technical talent, as well as deep technical and business judgment. The successful candidate will be at the forefront of building software that securely and efficiently moves large sums of money to vulnerable populations, requiring expertise in areas such as identity and fraud management, machine learning, and mobile money integrations. The ideal CTO for the company will be an AI-first thinker, capable of setting the tools, culture, and goals that leverage the opportunities and mitigate the risks of an AI-first engineering environment. They should also embody the company's values and be prepared to lead across organizational boundaries, working closely with the executive team to integrate technology into strategic and operational decisions. While not mandatory, experience in operationally complex or regulated domains, particularly those involving financial controls, fraud risk, or sensitive data, is advantageous. The role is remote, with a preference for candidates in the company's office hubs, and will involve approximately 4-6 trips per year to the countries of operation.
