SolidWorks experience is required6+ years of advanced design of mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies, embedded industry preferred5 years of product design experienceDesign of sheetmetal, machined parts and 3D printed partsCable assemblies and/or wire harness design desirableWorking knowledge of fasteners, press-in hardware, adhesives and assembly methodsKnowledge of materials (aluminum, plastics, copper) and finishes (anodizing, painting, plating)Basic structural and fluid dynamicsBasic thermal and airflow calculationsKnowledge in designing for thermal, vibration and shock applicationsUnderstanding of product design for outdoor, dynamic or harsh environments; Military product design highly desirableFamiliarity with MIL standards. Strong preference to experience with MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461Knowledge or experience in injection molding, thermoform, casting and other high-volume production methods desirableExperience with specifying or selecting wire size, wire type, terminals and crimping requirements, electrical terminationsKnowledge of UL requirements for safety of electronic assemblies desirableAbility to develop test plans, fixtures and conduct in-house systems and basic testing.
