Speech Language Pathologist / SLP Specialist Responsibilities Assess and evaluate patients of all ages through a combination of standardized tests and careful observation. Create customized treatment plans focusing on both immediate and long-term goals related to communication, cognitive, or swallowing impairments. Deliver focused, one-on-one speech therapy aimed at enhancing speech, language, fluency, and swallowing abilities. Work together with interdisciplinary teams-including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, as well as family members-to develop comprehensive care plans. Provide education to patients and their families to foster progress outside clinical visits. Engage in occasional inpatient evaluations and therapy to ensure seamless patient care throughout their rehabilitation journey. Keep precise documentation that complies with all relevant regulations and standards. Commit to ongoing professional development through continued education and interaction with fellow professionals. Qualifications Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. A Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) must be completed if you are not yet ASHA-certified. State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting your employment. Deep knowledge of evidence-based practices for various age groups and a familiarity with developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and colleagues. The capability to modify therapy techniques to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Sound clinical judgment complemented by effective problem-solving capabilities.
